Another Potential Strike!?
The Canadian National Railway (CN) is bracing for potential disruptions as 750 signal and communication workers, represented by the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), prepare to strike. With a 72-hour notice issued and a 95% mandate in favor of the action, the union is advocating for better work-life balance and higher pay. The strike is scheduled to begin on January 28 if negotiations fail.
CN has responded by acknowledging the notice and assuring stakeholders that contingency plans are in place to minimize disruptions to the supply chain. However, such strikes can significantly impact freight movement, posing risks to industries dependent on rail for transporting goods.
TLC is closely monitoring this development to ensure clients’ freight is rerouted effectively, minimizing potential delays. Contact us today to secure alternative transport solutions and keep your shipments on track.
