U.S.D.O.T. Fast Tracks Railroad Infrastructure Improvements
The USDOT’s $2.4 billion investment in U.S. rail infrastructure will enhance freight flow, safety, and resilience across the nation. This funding, covering over 120 projects in 41 states, supports critical upgrades in key logistics hubs. Highlights include $26.5 million for the Colonel’s Island Terminal at Georgia’s Port of Brunswick, a vital freight connection point, and $67 million for the Livernois Intermodal Facility in Michigan, which will gain 17,200 feet of new track. Additional funds will help replace aging equipment, such as transitioning Detroit’s gantry cranes from diesel to electric, reinforcing USDOT’s green initiatives.
These investments promise improved intermodal connectivity, port access, and faster freight processing, especially in high-traffic zones. TLC is adapting to these enhancements, ready to pass on the benefits of reduced transit times and more reliable schedules to clients.
